Tuesday, March 26th: Rome - Pitigliano - Villa

Meeting point: Rome Airport Hilton Hotel:
Shacharit 07.30, kosher breakfast 08.00, depart 09.00

There are flights that arrive early from NY and TLV early morning, but please see note below re arriving the day before.

If you would like to come to Rome or Venice for the Shabbat before, we are happy to advise you where to stay and eat, and where to visit!!

Our first stop….
Pitigliano: "little Jerusalem"

This striking cliff-top village was until the 1930’s home to a small thriving Jewish community. We'll visit the former ghetto with its synagogue and museum and have lunch in a bar on the main square. It’s probably the perfect way to experience Tuscany for the first time: quaint, gorgeous and enriched by its Jewish story.

A couple of hours due north….

We’ll visit the famous Piazza del Campo, home of the Palio horse race, the beautiful synagogue, see the Duomo (l’havdil) and walk the streets of this iconic, bustling ancient city, before completing our first, and longest day with…

Dinner in the Villa Le Calvane

day 2

Wednesday, March 27: Forte dei Marmi – Hike on the Cinque Terre

Forte dei Marmi
Tuscany’s famous, most elegant seaside resort and home to a great weekly country textile market.

Hike the Cinque Terre

For years one of the highlights of this tour – a 2-hour challenging hike overlooking the sea. A bus and a train will bring us to Corniglia where we start, hiking to Vernazza and then taking a train back to our waiting bus.

If you’re not a hiker – no problem. We have a lovely solution for you too!!

day 3

Thursday March 28 : Villa Torrigiani, Lucca, Barga / ATV tour

Villa Torrigiani
Lucca is famous for its noble villas.
This is one of the most interesting: we'll tour both inside the villa and the gardens. We’ll also get a glimpse of the life of the once-wealthy!!

In this medieval mountain top village where time has stood still for hundreds of years you’ll climb the winding narrow streets to the Duomo at the top of the village to breathe the clean air and enjoy the 360º panorama.
If this is too tame – how about an exhilarating ATV tour in the hills???

You’ll feel 16 when you bike on the wide walls and thru the town. Here too: if you’re not a cyclist we have solutions. Or, simply take a stroll thru Lucca’s 99 piazzas and people-watch in “our” café where the “tab” is always open for our guests and the ice cream is kosher.

A short Puccini will put us in the mood …. for dinner back in the Villa

Shabbat March 30: Pisa

Pray, eat & sleep, right? We’ll also stroll in vicinity of the villa.
After Havdalah at 19.25, we’re off to….

No trip would be complete without seeing the tower – at night the day-trippers and souvenir vendors are gone; Jewish Pisa is also featured – surprise!!!!
